Anna Wieselgren

Born and raised in Sweden , Anna Wieselgren studied sculpture in Spain at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia in Valencia, graduated with a BFA from Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Vancouver and received an MFA from the Slade School of Fine Art in London, England. She has been an artist-in-residence at the Chisenhale Dance Space in London, England and the Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture in Skowhegan, Maine. Her sculpture, installation and performance work has been shown in Canada, India, England, Spain and the United States.
Wieselgren's work has recently been exhibited at the St Thomas-Elgin Public Art Centre, Etobicoke Art Gallery, Forest City Gallery, Grimsby Public Art Gallery and Eastern Front Gallery in Toronto. She is the recipient of numerous grants and awards for her work including a British Colombia Arts Council Senior Award, a fellowship from the Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture, an Ontario Arts Council Emerging Artist Award and a Commonwealth Scholarship from the British Council. |
